Risk Disclosure

Version 1.0 draftEffective [effective date]Applies to tradante.com and its subdomains

This page sets out the risks of using Tradante. It is part of your agreement with us, together with the Terms of Service, the Rulebook and the Privacy Policy. Read it before you pay for anything on the platform.

SECTION 1

Read this first

The six things that matter most
  • All trading on Tradante is simulated. No account we provide holds a position in a real market, at any stage, including challenge accounts and Funded Trader Status.
  • Tradante is a skill-based game that you pay to play. It is not an investment, and we do not provide investment advice.
  • The money you pay for a pass, an entry or a challenge is spent. You should expect not to get it back. Most entries do not win a prize.
  • No identity verification, no payment. Taking part in any paid product, and receiving any prize, reward or withdrawal, depends on completing identity verification (KYC). A prize won by someone who does not pass it is not paid.
  • Simulated results do not predict real results. Doing well here does not mean you would do well trading real money.
  • Blockchain transactions cannot be undone, and you alone are responsible for your wallet.
Beta · test network in use

The platform is in beta. Every on-chain transaction currently runs on Base Sepolia, a test network, and the tokens used there have no real monetary value. See section 8.

SECTION 2

Simulated trading and hypothetical results

Every balance, profit, loss, score and ranking you see on a simulated account is the result of a simulation. No real order stands behind it.

Hypothetical performance

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Because the trades have not actually been executed, the results may under- or over-compensate for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.

In particular, a simulation differs from a real market in these ways:

  • Fills. Simulated orders are filled at prices derived from a data feed. In a real market the same order could be filled at a worse price, partly, late, or not at all, especially for large sizes and in fast markets.
  • Market impact. Your simulated orders do not move the price. Real orders can.
  • Costs. Spreads, commissions, financing and slippage in the simulation are approximations.
  • Psychology. Decisions made with simulated money are not the decisions people make when their own money is at risk.

Any figure we show for an account, a leaderboard, a trader or a payout is a simulated result or a reward paid under the published rules. It is never evidence of what real trading would return.

SECTION 3

What you can lose

You cannot lose money to the market on Tradante, because no account is in the market. What you can lose is what you pay us:

  • the price of a competition pass, whether or not you finish in a paid position;
  • a tournament entry fee, unless you leave before the start or the tournament is cancelled;
  • a challenge fee, whether or not you pass;
  • the price of a signal, whether or not it turns out to be any good;
  • network fees on your deposits and withdrawals.

Purchases are final once the product has started. Decide what a product is worth to you as a game and as practice before you buy it, and treat the price as spent.

You can also lose a prize you have won. Every payment depends on identity verification (KYC). A prize or reward is held until verification is passed. If you do not complete it in the time set in the Terms of Service, if it is failed, or if it shows that you are in a restricted country or territory, the prize or reward is forfeited. Complete verification before you pay for anything, so that you know you can be paid.

SECTION 4

Challenges and Funded Trader Status

  • A challenge can be failed. Targets, daily loss limits and overall loss limits are checked continuously. Breaching a limit once ends the attempt and the fee is not returned. You should expect that an attempt may end without any reward.
  • The account size is a simulated number. A challenge or funded account described by a figure, for example a “$50,000 account”, is a simulated account with that simulated starting balance. Nobody gives, lends or allocates that amount to you, and you cannot withdraw it.
  • Funded Trader Status is also simulated. Passing a challenge does not move you to a live account. There is no live account at any stage.
  • The reward is conditional. The Performance Reward is payment for the trading data and signals you provide, calculated by reference to the simulated profits of the account, up to the percentage published for the product. It is paid on request and only when the published conditions are met: identity verification, minimum trading days, consistency rules and no breach of the account's limits. If a condition is not met, no reward is due.
  • No claim on program funds. The share of challenge revenue that Tradante allocates to run the program belongs to Tradante. Buying a challenge gives you no ownership, no beneficial interest, no redemption right and no proportional claim in it.
  • Status can end. Funded Trader Status ends on a breach of the account's limits or of the fair-play rules.
SECTION 5

Competitions and prizes

  • Only the top places are paid. Each board and tournament publishes which places win a prize. Everyone else receives nothing for that event.
  • Pots depend on entries. A prize pot is built from the entries of the players in that event. A small field means a small pot. An event cannot pay more than its pot holds.
  • You compete against other people. Some of them are more experienced, trade more hours, or take more simulated risk than you would. Ranking by score rewards the results the scoring formula measures, which is not the same as careful trading.
  • Scores can be voided. Scores obtained by offsetting trades between accounts, duplicate accounts, bug or price-error exploitation, or other breaches of the fair-play rules are removed, and prizes obtained through them are withheld or recovered.
  • Events can be cancelled or corrected. If an event is cancelled your entry is returned. If a result was affected by a scoring or data error, it can be corrected after the event.
SECTION 6

Prices and the platform

  • Data feeds fail. Prices come from third-party feeds and venues. They can be delayed, wrong or missing. A simulated fill, a score or a result based on a clearly wrong price can be corrected.
  • Outages happen. The platform, your connection or your device can fail at the moment you need to act, including while a simulated position is open and a loss limit is near. Limits keep applying during an outage.
  • Market hours and gaps. Instruments trade in their real sessions. Prices can jump between sessions and around news, and a stop can be filled well beyond its level.
  • Prediction markets shown on the platform are priced from third-party venues. Those prices can be thin and can move sharply, and a market can be settled, voided or suspended by the venue that lists it.
  • The product changes. Features, instruments and products can be changed or withdrawn.
SECTION 7

Blockchain, wallet and USDC

  • Transactions are final. A confirmed blockchain transaction cannot be reversed by you, by us or by anyone else. Funds sent to a wrong address or over a wrong network are usually lost.
  • Your keys are yours alone. We never hold your wallet's keys or recovery phrase and cannot restore them. If you lose them, or someone else obtains them, the wallet and what it holds are gone.
  • USDC is issued by a third party. Its value depends on its issuer and the reserves behind it. It can trade away from one US dollar, and the issuer can freeze addresses. We do not control either.
  • Smart contracts can contain errors. Balances, prize pots and payments are held and moved by smart contracts on the Base network. Code can have bugs, including bugs nobody has found yet, and a bug can cause loss. [Counsel/engineering to state the audit status of the deployed contracts here.]
  • The contracts can be paused and upgraded. In an incident, money movement can be paused for everyone until it is resolved. The contracts can also be upgraded by us. A pause, an upgrade and any change of a fee parameter is a public, timestamped transaction.
  • The network can be slow or unavailable. Congestion or an outage on Base can delay deposits, withdrawals and payments, and network fees vary.
  • Public ledger. Wallet addresses, amounts and times of on-chain transactions are public and permanent. See the Privacy Policy.
SECTION 8

The beta

While the platform is in beta, expect faults. Features can change or disappear, and scores, levels, rankings, simulated accounts and competition history can be reset.

During this phase every on-chain transaction runs on Base Sepolia, a test network. The tokens used there, including the test version of USDC, have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money. Balances, prizes and rewards recorded on the test network are for testing only, create no claim against us, and will not be carried over to a main network unless we say so in writing. Never send real funds to an address shown on the platform during this phase.

SECTION 9

Signals and copy trading

  • Other traders are users, not advisers. Signals, positions on the Social Order Book and reviews come from other players. We do not check or endorse them.
  • A good record here is a simulated record. A trader's rank, score or history on the platform is a simulated result and does not show that following them would be profitable anywhere.
  • Copying copies the losses too. On auto-copy, a copied trade can breach your own account's limits and end your challenge or your board run.
  • Do not carry signals to a real account. Signals are made for the game. Using them to trade real money is your own decision and your own risk.
SECTION 10

Legal, regulatory and tax

  • Not a financial service. Tradante is not a broker, a dealer, an exchange, a bank, an investment adviser or a fund. [Counsel to decide whether to add: “None of the services offered is subject to oversight by a financial regulator.”]
  • No protection schemes. Your balance is not a bank deposit. It is not covered by any deposit-insurance or investor-compensation scheme.
  • Restricted countries and territories. The platform is not offered in certain places. The current list is in section 4 of the Terms of Service and can change. An account found to belong to someone in a restricted place is closed, and its prizes and rewards are not paid.
  • Rules change. The rules that apply to skill competitions, trader evaluation programs and digital assets differ between places and can change. A change can force us to alter or withdraw a product. You are responsible for making sure your own use is lawful.
  • Tax is yours. Prizes and rewards may be taxable where you live. We do not give tax advice and we do not pay your tax for you.
SECTION 11

Your account security

If someone gets into your account they can spend your balance on products. Withdrawals go only to wallets verified as yours, which limits what a thief can take, but it does not protect a wallet that has itself been compromised. Use a unique password, keep your security codes private, and beware of messages that imitate us: we never ask for your password or your recovery phrase.

SECTION 12

Play within your means

Pay only for what you can afford to spend on a game. Do not use borrowed money, and do not rely on prizes or rewards as income. If playing stops being enjoyable, or you find yourself buying entries to win back what you spent, stop, and write to us if you want your account closed or paused.

SECTION 13

Your acknowledgement

By using the platform you confirm that you have read this disclosure and the Terms of Service, that you understand all trading on Tradante is simulated, and that you accept the risks described here. This page cannot list every risk. If something is unclear, ask us before you pay for anything.
